First Person: The Video Game that Made Me a Gamer

The video game that made me a gamer was Nintendo: Super Mario 4 that I now play on unblocked online games free. I’m a young adult, and this game happened to be my Mother’s in the late 1980s. It was the first true video game I was introduced to at the age of six. As a child I was never engulfed by the latest “gadgets” or “systems,” I was intrigued only by this one game. I’d spend hours in the basement playing on the ground, determining ways to master each new world on an ancient Nintendo 64 device. And as I got better at the game, as Mario managed to grow more powerful, I officially became a gamer

My delight at gaining extra lives while gathering endless coins jump-started my road into the world of gaming. After countless years of trying on and off, I finally mastered the animated worlds and completed the game. I was overjoyed but also saddened. I was twelve years old when I finished, six years after being first introduced to the game. A feeling of emptiness overcame me; a sullen preteen who had nothing to do with his spare time now. Nonetheless, I recovered and began my new gaming experience. After saving up money through chores for months, I bought a play station two. My passion for action and adventure presented through Super Mario reclaimed itself through new titles like Spiderman and The Incredibles.

Eventually, I evolved into video games like Call of Duty and Halo. Nonetheless, my passion for video games roots in the adventures I experienced as a little kid on an antique game system that most people my age haven’t even heard of. Now, I’m an avid gamer who is always searching for the next best thing. I still, however, love to play my favorite original video game once in a while; it brings back vivid and exhilarating memories of my childhood.

I learned that Super Mario 4 is a harder game than most of the modern games I play, with both difficulty and time spent to complete. I’ve also learned that even though modern PS3 and Xbox 360 games are far more “high-tech” and “life-like” both types of games are extremely similar to Super Mario 4. They both continue to engage my mind in ways school and education cannot. I owe a multitude of credit to video games because they’ve taught me how to engage and problem solve. But they’ve also been my prevalent outlet for stressful times in my life, my sanity. In a way, instead of drowning my brain in nonsensical information to rot my mind, I’ve learned how to take all the positives out of gaming. I owe all this to Super Mario 4.

Games that Are Not Made for Children

There are so many video games that come out each year that it is hard for parents who don’t play them to keep up with them. If you’re one of the many parents who buy their kid’s video games based on what your kids tell you about the games- this article is for you.

In my experience, parents buy Call of Duty games for their kids because their kids told them that all their other friends are playing them.

While most parents know that the Call of Duty series is about guys with guns shooting each other, they may not realize that the games are about realistic depictions of wars- both real and fictional. The most recent game, Call of Duty: Black Ops covers covert missions in the Vietnam War and the Cold War. The main menu is a torture room. The violence is realistic-looking, and the action generally has lots of blood and profanity coming from every character.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 featured a mission where the player can gun down innocent civilians at an airport. While the game does not condone acts of terrorism or the slaughtering of innocent people, kids aren’t going to catch the kind of nuance. But this game was not made for them. Nearly all of the Call of Duty games are rated “M” for Mature players.

God of War Series

The God of War games may be based on Greek Mythology, but they are not interactive history lessons or even a Disney’s Hercules-like retelling of ancient stories. Greek mythology was full of violence and sexual deviance, and the God of War games are modern exploitation of those themes.

That basically means the series is about very little other than violence and sexual deviance. Group sex and decapitations are common gameplay elements for every game in the series. Nearly every enemy (and there are a lot of them) is able to be defeated in a spectacularly gruesome fashion, including dismemberment and eye-gouging. They are not games for the squeamish, and certainly not for children.

Gears of War 2

You might think that a game with the word “war” in the title would denote that it is violent and not made for kids. Yet if you were to join an online game of Gears of War 2, you’re likely to find at least a few players who are well under seventeen.

While the game includes filters to curb both the profanity and gore of the game, it does nothing for the constant profanity commonly shouted by other gamers in online matches. It also does not filter out that partway through the single-player game, players are instructed to use a chainsaw to slice through a creature’s heart and then wallow in its copious blood flow. Once again, it is a game made for adults, yet often played by children.

Grand Theft Auto IV is one of the greatest console games ever. You’re missing out if you have not already purchased this game. My question is “What are you waiting for?” It sold 3.6 millions copies the first day on it’s release and grossed over 500 million dollars. So if you don’t have it already you’re definitely missing out on this excellent release by Rockstar Games. One of the most realistic and riveting games I have ever played.

Niko Bellic is an Eastern Europe war veteran coming to the U.S.A. in search of the American Dream. Personally not my favorite character but he brings a certain element to the game you can’t deny. He is greeted in America by his cousin Roman. Roman made up lavish and glamorous stories about how great America is. Niko soon finds out it’s not all its cracked up to be. He finds out that this new world is full of drugs, death, and corruption. The story takes place in Liberty City a look alike of New York City. Full of open environment to freely do the story however you like. You can go out on foot or steal a vehicle and drive throughout the city. A driving game and third person shooter game which pretty much only Rockstar can pull off. Other games try but they fail miserably. Grand Theft Auto IV is the best console game I have ever played.

The game offers a new feature that lets you decide your next move which will later affect the outcome of the game. This is a great addition to the game because you can play it more than once. Plus all the side missions in the game make it last past the storyline. It’s a game that never gets old and can be replayed over and over. So its definitely worth shelling out the money for that and the strategy guide (which is very useful) This game has got some of the best ratings for any X box game and is on the way to be one of the top selling games ever! Now if that don’t convince people, I don’t know what will.

The game has had a lot of controversies since its release not even a year ago. Mothers Against Drunk Driving have spoken out against the game along with many television personalities such as the outspoken Glenn Beck. Teenagers were arrested in New York for robbing and assaulting people and they blamed in on the game. I mean of course people aren’t going to like it because of it’s graphic nature. I still think it’s the best game ever made. With the use of gta 5 mod menu ps3, I was able to modify some aspects of the game giving me more fun and exciting in playing it. Yeah, sometimes it is really tiring playing the same features over and over again. Hence, I did consider this kind of mod.

The fun level of this game is at the top of the charts. I can’t see anyone playing this game and not having fun while doing it. The story catches you and you never want it to end. The characters are very lifelike and not unreal like most console games. You feel very much like you are apart of the Liberty City world. You can take people out on dates to restaurants, night clubs, bars, and comedy clubs. You can spend your money from the missions at gun shops, food places, cars, and many other things. The game shows how Niko gets sucked into the bad lifestyle of drugs and killing. He starts doing jobs to make money so he can establish himself in America. Then it turns into an all out profession, working for mob bosses to drug addicts. One of the funnest games I have ever played in my life.

So if you want to stop wasting your time buying crappy console games that just don’t fit your needs. Stop delaying and buy Grand Theft Auto IV you will not regret that choice. It’s a game you will definitely get your use out of. I’ve played it 4 times already and still play it to this day. So what are you waiting for?
