What Is Haccp Compliance

At Goode Pest Control, we’re HACCP compliance, and this compliance allows us to provide our services to a number of businesses that deal heavily in food handling, preparation and/or manufacturing. In today’s blog, we’ll be explaining the basic objectives of HACCP and why being HACCP compliant matters.

What is HACCP?

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, and is a systematic preventive approach to food safety. It aims to identify any possible hazards – such as chemical and biological – that could ultimately lead the finished product being unsafe. Once these hazards are identified, measures are then employed to reduce these risks to a safe level.

Overall, the process of HACCP is chiefly seen as one that occurs throughout the production process of food, from manufacturing and packaging to the end point of distribution. It is not designed as an inspection of the finished product – it’s about taking initial safety measures to ensure the finished product is safe.

As a result, HACCP has become a popular set of measures and actions to be followed from companies and industries involved throughout all stages of food production and services. It is not only an Australian process, but a global process adhered to by a number of countries.

While HACCP does have a rival known as ISO 22000, HACCP is the more the commonly utilised form of food safety assurance. This is because the HACCP is an official system recognised by the UN, whereas ISO 22000 is only a standard. In other words, there’s no requirement for businesses or organisations to adhere to ISO 22000, but there is for HACCP.

HACCP compliance

If involved in the food industry, be it from manufacturing to serving, being HACCP compliant/accredited is certainly worth investing in. As HACCP is seen as one of the most effective systems for ensuring great food safety, having that accreditation to your name is certainly beneficial. Also, under many circumstances, you may not be able to perform certain tasks within your business without HACCP accreditation.

People that have Zothex flooring in their house can very well consider Good Pest control especially after it has the stamp of HACCP’s approval that makes it perfect for use as this means that there can be no damage done to the tiles or the design while the pests can be rid off in a jiffy.

As we noted before, Goode Pest Control is HACCP accredited, which allows us to provide our services to a greater wealth of commercial clients, such as those who run food manufacturing and packaging plants, and businesses that cook and serve food, such as fast food restaurants, dine-in restaurants and diners. This is because we take the necessary measures to ensure that our services do not impact on the safety of any of the food products within the premises.
