Roofing Can Ruin Satellite Reception

There are circumstances that lead to getting a new roof. Storm damage, wind damage, hail damage or maybe to change appearances of a drab house. If you have a satellite don’t expect to have your crystal clear reception after the roofers get done.

Roofers will move your satellite. They may try to put it back where they found it, but the slightest move will throw off the satellite. It won’t work the same until it is moved back to the strongest position of reception.

Roofers may not mean to bring disorder upon your TV life, but they will. To the viewer they may not understand why distorted choppy screens continue. They may not know why they keep losing their signal. They may try to reboot their receiver by holding the power button down for ten seconds and then releasing it. They may unplug the power to their TV. The latter will reboot the receiver to.

Nothing done inside the house will work for the tortured TV addict. Picture reception can only be found while adjusting the satellite on the roof. This is a tricky procedure because the slightest turn could make a big difference. You could lose the satellite signal altogether or have a weaker signal coming through.

Satellite professionals are an option you can consider if you choose not to fix the problem on your own. They won’t come out for free so you’ll have to spend money on a solution that the lovable roofers caused.

Do-it-yourselfers can give it a whirl if they love fixing things and problem solving. First acquire the proper numbers for best reception at your zip code. Go to menu on your satellite and then push the button for system setup. Next push the point dish/signal button. Press the peak angles button once you are there. If you have dish 500 make sure the satellite is on 119 then type in your zip code.

By typing in your zip code you are given the number for an Azimuth Angle, Elevation Angle, and Skew Angle. Write the numbers down. Find a compass. The Azimuth Angle will give you the best course to the satellites in the sky. For instance, South might be the perfect direction. Think of it as right to left and vice versa. The Elevation Angle is the best angle from your residence. It is found by moving the satellite up and down. Use your compass to find the numbers you wrote down for each angle. The bolts for the angles are located behind the satellite. To move the satellite you will have to loosen the bolts.

To help in achievement of a strong signal you can view the signal strength on your TV or listen to the sounds of the signal strength. The higher pitched the sounds are the stronger your reception. The lower the sound the worse your reception will be. The signal strengths are found when you are at the point dish/signal page.

Stand on the side of your satellite when making any adjustments. You can block signals if you stand in front.

It is important to make adjustments in your satellite at regular intervals as there are chances of the connection getting weakened due to bad weather or natural disaster so one might have a Idaho (historical) map ready just so to shift base if problems persist.

Call your satellite provider for assistance if things get ugly. The phone lines are usually open twenty four hours a day.

Why Your Rental Units Are Empty

Having moved over six times in the last twelve years, I have done more than my fair share of apartment hunting. In this time, I have viewed over a hundred units, and over and over I have listened to tales of woe from the owners. They cannot understand why their units are sitting empty for months, even years, at a time. Some had obvious issues such as nearby noise, filth or damage in the unit, long flights of stairs, or ‘attractive nuisances’ such as churches or playgrounds nearby. But others suffered from far less-noticeable unwanted features that turned our decision against their unit. All of them are a waste of the potential client’s time and yours, if it is an issue they are unwilling to have in their home. Here are the three worst offenders.

Non-standard floor-plans should be disclosed in the initial advertisement. I’ve viewed units where you had to walk through the bathroom to enter the master bedroom, or through a bedroom to reach a kitchen. One apartment built on a top floor had a shower tucked under the steep slope of the roof, so that you had to sit in a shower-chair with a hand-held sprayer to bathe. There was no tub. Another unit had a bathroom in a hallway, shared by two other tenants with a communal cleaning schedule posted! While some tenants won’t mind a non-standard layout, others will completely reject your property because of them. Disclose them in your ad and save both of you the aggravation by using such phrases such as ‘interesting layout’, ‘shared bathroom’, or ‘unique space’.

Flooring can be another huge turn-off. Yes, that new, freshly-laid carpet is gorgeous. But if it is very light or very dark, I don’t want to deal with the hassles of keeping it immaculate. One unit I viewed was covered in white carpet and so heavily padded it felt spongy beneath my feet. It was lovely, but completely inappropriate and a liability. One dropped can of soda and it would have been ruined. Beautiful hardwood flooring can be a culprit as well. Tenants usually do not want to purchase area rugs to fit someone else’s property. They can be expensive and may not fit the rooms of their next dwelling. Left bare, floors can be cold, noisy and scuff easily. Neutral carpet that does not extend into the kitchen and bathroom is optimal. If you have no intention of changing the flooring, disclose it early, either in the ad or the initial call with phrasing such as ‘all exposed hardwood’ or ‘new white carpet throughout’.

Pets policy is perhaps most frustrating of all. Do not advertise a unit as ‘pet friendly’ and then wait for the viewing to announce only one pet is permitted, or that it is cats-only or dogs-only. If there is a maximum number of pets, disclose this either in the ad or during the initial phone inquiry. Conversely, do not advertise as ‘no pets’ if there are others in the building with pets. The dander and allergens can spread into the common stairwells or ventilation and cause life-threatening reactions. ‘No pets this unit’ is a far more fair statement. If changing a unit from ‘pet friendly’ to ‘no pets’ between tenants, the carpets must be replaced and the entire unit scrubbed with care.

Furthermore, to avoid any problems, it is important that you back up yourself with the necessary information or data about the current standing of properties. Websites like surveys-northeast.co.uk will help you find the best deal for you so you don’t have to be stressed and frustrated.

These are the three largest problems I’ve encountered in my search for housing. If property owners were more forthcoming about these issues, time and aggravation could be saved. And if your unit continues to sit idle, you may want to consider changing either the unit itself or the wording in your advertisements. Honesty from the beginning can help you in your quest to find the perfect tenant for your space!

Internet Security Virus Warning

Now, I am sure most people on this Web site have the sensibility to operate on the ‘net with really good anti-virus software. But now, viruses are slipping past even the best of anti-virus software.

This is because of the most simple of reasons… The latest trend in virus programing is to disguise the virus as the anti-virus software itself!

Having your own website is something that many people aspire for because you can write and post anything you want like your private social media account where millions of people can see your content but the virus tends to play spoilsport all the time but once software is installed, everything is ok and be sure to add a memorable preventivo realizzazione sito web for good measure.

The most recent attack that I have seen has gone by the name “Internet Security 2010.” I will tell you right now, if there is a program on your computer by this name, TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO A VIRUS-REMOVAL SHOP RIGHT NOW! This program is dangerous mal-ware and will make your computer so FUBAR that it will be unusable. On top of the massive drain on system resources it poses, it writes three (or more) seperate viri into your windows registry, making removal near impossible at best. These viri do three different things:

  1. They disable all administrative controls over the computer. This will make removal near impossible as the user cannot de-activate the services that the viri have hijacked…
  1. The wonderful trojan horse rears its ugly head, writing your computer’s end-game without ever showing its true identity. Trojans are known to be the most dangerous of viri for a reason…
  1. Malicious spy-ware will then take hold of your computer, transmitting personal information and just about any information that you DON’T want transmitted across the web. Social-Security numbers, IP addresses, Credit Card numbers, Home Address, Phone numbers, account information (for websites such as yahoo! mail, AC, myspace, facebook, etc.), Bank Numbers, program information, etc. I’m sure by now, I don’t need to tell you how potentially damaging the transmission of this information can be.

So while your computer is having viri written into its operating system, another thing is happening. You’ll notice that your desktop background will change to a red and black image with the text “Warning: Your system is been infected! Please activate your anti-virus software, and do not operate your computer until all viruses has removed.” (Yes, the grammer was THAT bad.) This will then be followed by a big red “X” being planted at the bottom right of your screen. A pop-up alert window will appear over it saying “Your computer is unprotected. Downloading Anti-Virus Software now.” Then a shield bearing the same colour scheme as the Windows logo will appear next to it, and another pop-up alert will appear saying “Your system is infected. Please activate your virus software now!” At this point, the “Internet Security 2010” program will activate itself, prompting you to immediately BUY a license just so you can have your computer back.

Again, at this point, I am sure that I do not have to tell you that you should NOT BUY THE FRIGGIN’ LICENSE. You will be required to input your credit card number, bank account number, full legal name, address, etc. DO NOT GIVE THIS PROGRAM SAID INFORMATION. You WILL be the next identity theft victim if you do, and quite possibly computer-less as well.

Now, you may ask “what can I do if my computer IS infected with this program?” Here’s what you do:

1: Immediately disconnect your internet land-line. This is that Ethernet (it looks like a wide telephone cable) that goes into the back of your computer, or wifi-caster if you have one.

2: Turn off your computer and remove the power cord.

3: Take it to an Virus-Removal shop. The sooner the better.

Under normal circumstances, I would suggest some basic tools to remove the virus from your computer, but in this case, the virus happens to be one of the most malicious viri I have encountered in my years of computer experience. Trust me on this, as I used to write viruses when I was ten years old (No worries, I only sent them to people who tried to hack my computer or tried to give me a virus), this virus is REALLY good at what it does. Hell, if I was still into that kind of thing, I would buy the programmer a friggin’ drink. But the point is that this virus goes beyond my capabilities in computer protection and virus removal. Just the other night, I had to reformat my hard-drive and performed a Department of Defense level of overwrite (three overwrite passes). Even after re-installing my Operating System, damage caused by the virus was still apparent. I was forced to re-reformat my hard drive and this time I performed six more overwrites.

So, the purpose of this article is to give everyone who reads this fair warning. Do not try to remove the virus yourself. Do not fall for the fake anti-virus program. And most of all, immediately see a computer expert.

Another note, to any computer specialists who read this, please send me a message on my AC account. I would like to discuss some ways to remove this nasty beast from my other computer. Thank you in advance.

Pros and Cons Of Ion Beam Sputtering

Ion beam sputtering or also known as ion beam deposition is a thin film deposition technology that utilizes source of ion in order to deposit a sputtering target to a substrate to generate the highest quality of films with focus and precision. IBS is also more accurate compared to other PVD technologies. The accuracy allows the tool to have control over the substrate thickness. IBS is one of the trusted deposition technologies that expert use and recommend as well. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of ion beam sputtering.

ADVANTAGES

Wide Application

One of the best advantages of ion beam sputtering is that it can be applied or coated to any materials. This is possible because there is smaller difference in sputtering characteristics compared to the evaporation characteristics. IBS can even be applied in materials with high melting point. It is also easy to form a film having the same ratio as the target when it comes to target compound materials and alloy

High Energy

Another benefit of IBS or ion beam sputtering is its high energy. Sputter coating in making molecules is using momentum exchange and atoms become the gas phase. The average energy of the sputtering is 10eV. This is a hundred times higher than vacuum evaporated particles. With its high-energy characteristic, the film will be made quality and firmly bonded to the substrate.

High Precision

Ion beam sputtering is also scanned, précised and focused. The characteristics of the ion beam will still be marinated while the substrate materials and target are changing. Also, the current and energy of the ion beam can also be controlled independently. The precision of ion beam makes its very suitable as a research method for thin film disposition.

Good Stability

The resulting coating is stable, dense and uniform. As a result, it can effectively adhere to the substrate. This is possible because of the inherent collimation single energy of ion beam sputtering. As a result, the films created using IBM will be durable and stable.

Good Uniformity

Good uniformity is another benefit or advantage of ion beam sputtering. Generally, sputter coating’s incident ions are obtained by gas discharge method. The working pressure of this process is between 10-2Pa-10Oa. Since putter ions usually collide with gas molecules in the vacuum chamber, the motion direction randomly deviates from the original direction. As a result, the area becomes more uniform than vacuum coating.

DISADVANTAGE

Basically, the main advantage of IBS is that small target area of the bombardment and the low disposition rate. In addition, IBS is also not ideal for depositing uniform thickness large area film. The cost of the equipment operating is relatively high because the sputtering tool is quite complicated.

Overall, knowing these advantages and disadvantages of ion beam sputtering is necessary in the field or area of film deposition technology. When creating a film, it is important to use the right tools so you can create a high quality and reliable one. New Years Resolutions: Tips to Quit Smoking

What’s your New Year’s resolution? Do you want to lose a few pounds? Maybe spend more time with your family? Or how about quitting smoking?

Every year most of us get gung ho and start setting goals or making resolutions for the New Year. That’s great; but the problem is we have a hard time sticking with our resolutions and usually find ourselves falling off the bandwagon around mid January.

The trick to keeping your new years resolution and sticking to your goals is to have a well laid out plan. Let’s take smoking as an example. I made a resolution in December of 2006 to quit smoking. I had tried to quit smoking several times before but I wasn’t 100 percent successful. Well last year I took a different approach and I’m proud to say that I’ve been smoke free for a full year!!

Here’s what I did. I sat down and wrote out my smoking routine. Below is the actual routine that I was addicted to.

I smoked a cigarette in the morning when I woke up. I smoked one in the car on my way to work. I smoked two on my morning break, a couple at lunch, two more on my afternoon break, another one on the car ride home, and then between three and five before I turned in for the night.

When you do the math I was smoking a little more than a half a pack a day.

Now some people try to quit cold turkey. I’d tried that before but it didn’t work out for me. Gradually working towards not smoking was the solution that worked for me.

Once I had made a list of my smoking routine I consciously thought about whether I really wanted to smoke or if it was just “time” for me to smoke. By consciously thinking about my habits I was able to first decrease the amount of cigarette that I smoked and then eliminate smoking all together.

After I made my list I evaluated it and decided to cut out smoking on my drive to and from work. Now don’t get me wrong I had the urge to light up and smoke but I didn’t because I knew that I need to break my habit on cigarette at a time. It took about a month before I lost the urge to smoke on my commutes, but taking that small step and succeeding at it gave me a boost of confidence to continue with my goal.

Then I rewrote my list, adjusting it to my new smoking routine and eliminated yet another smoking session. I only had one cigarette during my morning and afternoon breaks instead of two. Do you see the rhythm of my plan? Take small steps and over time you will reach your goals.

Here is another tactic that I used to help decrease the amount of cigarettes that I smoked.

I didn’t carry cigarettes and nicotine shots around with me everywhere I went. I started leaving them at the house more and more. That way even if I had the urge to smoke then I didn’t have the cigarettes to smoke; I didn’t make them readily available to myself. With this, I was able to contain myself. I realized that the presence of cigarettes is a big factor why people are easily tempted. Hence, if you really want to quit, make sure to leave cigarettes and don’t make it accessible for you

Once I was finally at the point when I was ready to let the cigarettes go for good then I got some help. I started using a nicotine patch but that didn’t work out too well for me. The patches irritated my skin and I think they may have been the cause of the horrific dreams that I started having. Needless to say that solution was short lived.

I went online and did a little research to find another route to stopping my nicotine cravings. I came across a dietary supplement that claimed to relieve nicotine cravings. It also had a 90 day money back guarantee, so I gave it a shot. Surprisingly enough the product worked for me. I also got a pretty good deal. I ordered a four month supply and got two bottles free. I don’t know about you but I love free stuff.

How does that saying go? Different strokes for different folks? Well, this is the stroke that worked for me folks and it might just work for you too. You can learn more about the product that I used by visiting their website. There is a ton of useful information that might help you. Good luck on your endeavor and Happy New Year!!
